An admitted crack addict alleged in court Monday that a Chicago Police sergeant raped her at gunpoint -- at one point violating her with his police baton.


John Herman, 42, faces charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping and official misconduct over the alleged attack on March 10, 2004.

"He called me a bitch, a whore," the alleged victim, now 42, testified Monday. "I was scared. He had a gun."

Prosecutors allege Herman was driving around a South Side neighborhood and pulled a U-turn when he saw the woman, who was on her way to buy beer and cigarettes. He asked her if she was a prostitute, then demanded to see identification, prosecutors said. When she couldn't produce any, Herman told the woman to get in his squad car.
